On May 8-11, the brothers of Germany Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. celebrated their 60th chapter anniversary and hosted eight of the nine Divine Nine National Presidents in Kaiserslautern, and across the greater Rhineland-Pfalz federal state of Germany.
Germany Alumni Chapter (GAC), affectionately known as the “Flagship Chapter” as the first alumni chapter outside of the continental United States, was chartered on June 3, 1964. Being visited by Founder Edward Giles Ervin himself in 1980, chapter brothers filled his trip with a memorable experience in Deustchland providing engagements with two top black generals, engulfing him in the local population to understand the environment and allowing him to incite words of wisdom while enjoying the traditional black and white ball the chapter traditionally holds annually.
The GAC decided to emulate a similar experience for the National Pan-Hellenic Leadership ensuring a historic and fruitful visit. Samuel Bunton (Gamma Epsilon 1997), Polemarch, Germany Alumni Chapter brought the vision to the chapter members and the committee over a year ago, recognizing the significance of 60 years of not only achievement but service.
