Political Awareness
Vision Statement:
The Political Awareness Committee seeks to implement and engage in sustainable programs and initiatives that bring more attention to the Northeastern Province around political issues and how we, as members of Kappa Alpha Psi, can impact, improve them, and create lasting change.
Purpose:
An action driven committee that will evoke Brothers of the NEP to engage in specific grass root activities around political issues and bring awareness to their respective communities.
Goals:
- Each chapter should appoint a Political Action Chairman
- Each chapter should identify their local politicians.
- Chapter(s) should host a “Learn 2 Live” workshop or something similar in their city with their Kappa League and other community children and members.
- Each chapter should have a Member join either their local Urban League, National Action Network, NAACP, Community Board, or other service based organization.
- Each Alumni and UG chapter should partner with a High School or their College to encourage 18 year olds and other young voters to register.
